An Updated Every Day Makeup
Hi y’all and welcome back! It has been nearly a year since I wrote my Every Day Makeup – As of Recently post and thought it could use an update since I have added a few bits in. Since it is the beginning of a new year, I thought some of y’all might be looking for some new pieces to add to your makeup bag too. Without further ado let’s dig into this makeup bag! Quick shout out to my friend Marcie who gave me this bag as a gift a few years ago. It is such a nice reminder of her when I am doing my makeup now that I live so far from her!
I still don’t use a proper primer (should I be? I don’t know) but I find that Glossier Priming Moisturizer does the trick. I use this moisturizer in the morning and feel it preps my skin for foundation. If I feel like I need a little extra something I will also use the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, & Rosewater.
For foundation I do a mix of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. The Estee Lauder foundation isn’t the cheapest so mixing it with the more affordable Bourjois helps me get the most out of the bottle! Plus, I don’t need to be glammed TF out to go to work so I don’t want to waste all my good foundation for sitting in an office all day.
Next is the contour. I say that like I know what I am doing but I can assure you that I haven’t a clue. When I wrote my original every day makeup post I had yet to discover the magic that is Sculpted by Aimee Connolly pallet. Sadly, the Rose Gold palette I have is no longer available, but you can now make your own here! The shades I have in this palette are ‘Bronzer’, ‘Rose Gold Sheen’ and ‘Champagne Cream’. And of course, I always make sure to apply the bronzer and highlight with The Double Ended Sculpting Brush!
I am still (and probably always will) loving my MAC Blush in Blushbaby. This has been a ride or die blush for me since I was in high school and cannot recommend it enough. It is the perfect color to wear all year and a little bit gives you the perfect natural flush.
If I wear any eyeshadow/eyeliner it is always Urban Decay Toasted and Sephora brand eyeliner in Cappuccino. The Toasted shade in my original Naked palette ran out so I invested in an individual pot and it has been worth all €18. I know that’s pricey for ONE eyeshadow, but it is my favorite and I do use it every time I wear eyeshadow. The eyeliner is my all time favorite but sadly I can’t get it in Ireland! I stocked up when I found it when we were in Madrid and it has been happy days since.
Y’all, I am STILL using the same container of Collection Sheer Loose Powder. I swear this little tub will never run out. This might possibly the best €4 I have ever spent on a product.
For the final touch, it is time for mascara! Like the Eraser Eye Perfect & Cover Concealer, I talked about this back in November and the Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara is still going strong. I typically curl my lashes before I put this on and one coat is enough!
I hope this helped you find some new pieces or if you’re just nosey like me, you enjoyed a peak around my daily makeup! Let me know your everyday essentials in the comments so I can check them out too!
