Holiday Gift Guide: Practical Gifts

Holiday Gift Guide: Practical Gifts

When I was in college my parents started giving me gifts like Tupperware and dinnerware sets. I thought these gifts were boring on Christmas morning but man oh man did they come in handy the rest of the year! As a college student with not a lot of spare money these gifts were some of the most beneficial to me, even after college. Plus, who wants to spend their money on boring stuff? So, while these gifts are certainly not the most fun, they are some of the most useful!

Same as in the Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for Mom, theguide is broken down into gifts under $/€100, $/€50, and $/€25. I have 5 options in each category and everything is from Amazon.

Under 100

Hand Held Fabric Steamer – Ironing is the worst but somehow steaming is kind of fun? Make sure they don’t show up with wrinkles with this handy little number.

KitchenAid Mini Food Processor – The mini size makes this the perfect option for all kitchens!

Electric Kettle – I don’t know how I lived without an electric kettle before living in Ireland. Seriously everyone you know needs one.

Dinnerware Set – You gotta have something to eat off of! Paper plates aren’t cool for a multitude of reasons.

Keurig Coffee Maker – Coffee is an essential part of life. No further explanation is needed.

 Under 50

Reusable Straws – Saving the world while being trendy!

Bedsheets – Is there anything better than getting into a bed with new, fresh sheets?

Vacuum – When my old roommate’s mom gave us her old Dyson in college it felt like we hit the lotto. A good vacuum will be more appreciated than you know, especially by girls with long hair!

Desktop Lightning Charging Stand – We are all addicted to our phones so make sure it never dies with this stand!

Nesting Bowls Set with Mixing Bowls – They’re guaranteed to be used! Maybe the bowls will inspire them to get to work to put that dinnerware set to use.

 Under 25

Mini Sewing Kit – This is a lifesaver! I have always had one in my home as an adult and it has come through for me so many times.

Weekly Meal Planner – Make their life easier and ensure they never leave the store without what they need with this notepad they can’t lose!

Ceramic Travel Mug with Spill-Resistant Slide – For when they’re in a rush to get out the door in the morning but want that coffee kept hot during the weekday commute.

Good Housekeeping Cookbook – To put those mixing bowls you’re gifting them to use!

Bedside Caddy – Because who wants to leave their bed once they’re all settled in for a night of Netflix?

Happy shopping! Be sure to come back on Monday when I’ll be posting a guide for the special men in your life!
